Verify Your ITR in 6 Simple Steps

Get your acknowledgement number, then verify your return.

Log in to the income tax portal

Visit incometax.gov.in and log in with your PAN and password.

Find your acknowledgement number

Go to e-File → Income Tax Returns → View Filed Returns. Copy the 15-digit acknowledgement number shown for your return.

Open the e-Verify return page

Go to the e-Verify Return page on the portal (or use the ‘Verify Your ITR’ button below to go directly).

Enter your details

Fill in your PAN, select the assessment year, paste the acknowledgement number from step 2, and your mobile number.

Verify using Aadhaar OTP

Select ‘OTP on mobile registered with Aadhaar’ → generate OTP → enter the 6-digit OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile.

Verification complete

You’ll see a success message with a transaction ID — save it. Confirmation will be sent to your email and registered mobile.
